Noodilab updates the Moby lens to Moby Plus

Noodilab has announced that they have discontinued their Moby lens and replaced it with the Moby Plus. The new lens featured three upgraded elements and it now offers a magnification of 3.8 times at its 31.5mm minimum working distance, and 2.4 times at its 48mm maximum working distance.

The Moby Plus will be available from the end of July. It is designed for use with SLR and micro 4/3s sized cameras. Wetpixel is reviewing the Moby at present. Wetpixel is reviewing the Moby at present and images are of the original lens.

.. is the new magic number and it is A BIG upgrade from the previous x3.6. At this level of magnification, even an increment of x0.01 is really pushing the boundaries of physics.

7mm Slimmer or 14% shorter than the old Moby. What!?? ..YES! we pushed the boundaries for you again. …and now the good news.

An Ultra Macro Lens before, the New Moby is now a super macro lens as well. It now offers unparalleled flexibility and range of magnification while delivering uncompromising image qualities.

What have we done? And why is Moby so costly to build?

N-BK7 is a high optical quality bar-crown glass commonly used in many well known underwater close-up diopters and dome ports.
