Divers of the Dark

“Divers of the Dark” is a team specializing in filming and photographing in environments where ambient light doesn’t reach. These places are caves, flooded mines and the deep wrecks in the murky waters of Baltic Sea. The team was formed in 2007 during the process of making the book “Divers of the Dark”. Since then we have expanded our team skills to include filmmaking.

The team consists of between 3 to 6 divers and all our projects are collaborative, with each member providing input. When filming, each shot is carefully scripted, planned and sketched. We are fortunate in that our team member Veli Elomaa has tailor-made half a dozen different types of filming lights for us, which allow us to shoot in a wide variety of conditions.
