The second Lembeh vs Gulen Shootout took place from 15 to 23 June 2018. 25 participants competed against one another in two locations across the globe, Lembeh Indonesia and Gulen Norway. The contest had three categories: Nudibranchs, Fish and Invertebrates, and Wide Angle. Each team was allowed one practice day before spending a day shooting their entries for the contest. Barring the time difference, the two teams effectively shot simultaneously. The images were then voted upon in a public vote to determine the winners.

Wetpixel covered the event from both Gulen and Lembeh. The contest was very close all the way until the final vote count, with only 66 votes (out of a total of over 4000) separating the two teams. A congrats goes to Team Lembeh for their victory. The Individual winner was Galice Hoarau of Gulen, followed by Lembeh’s Nick More in second place, and Kellda Centeno with third.
