Alex Suh - Great White Sharks
Alex Suh is a Venturepreneur who is an avid shark diver and underwater photographer. He has been taking images of sharks and pelagics for several years. He has won awards for his images and his images and videos have been published. He is also a 360Fly Ambassador, filming 360 videos of his expeditions. Alex also flies drones to take images and film for projects.
Alex also started #SaveMyFins project, which is a documentary on sharks that was filmed and is being developed by Korean university students from the Seoul Institute of Arts. The basic concept is to have the young generation, whom have never dived with sharks, and promote ways (via this documentary) that will influence the Asian market to move away from shark fin soup and shark finning.

This over under (split) image shows the arching back of a GWS as it lands from chasing the chum line.
One of my favorite BW of a Great White passing by up close. No flash fired.
Jaws made the GWS scary, however, if you have ever dived with them they only look fearsome when their teeth show. However, this type of image gets a lot of interest.

Sitting on top of the shark cage I cannot really see the GWS coming until it is up close because of the reflection off the surface of the water.
This shark actually breached the surface to capture the chum on the line making a big splash.
It’s always exciting when a GWS passes by so close, you can see its eyes and pupils as they pass by.
Ascending the surface from below, great whites will come from below a few hundred feet from the depth of the ocean to capture its prey and breach the water as this one has.
This is actually optimal conditions for an under over (split) image when the water is not choppy but flat.
I love it when pilot fish swim alongside of a shark and pick off the left-over debris from the food. At times they will clean parasites off the shark.
This shark has captured the chum off the line (no hooks are used) and simply snap off the line. You can see the tail of the tuna chum used protruding from its mouth.
I love the sun and clear water in Isla Guadalupe unlike South Africa which usually has green waters. The rays in the water shine on the GWS.
When capturing an under over (split) image it is always great to have a background like the island and seagulls in the air.
Love the sun’s ray off the back but more about the details that you can see in the coloring and teeth of this GWS.
Getting the full ray from the sun from below and the shadow or image of a GWS is always interesting.
This image shows a lot of detail in the GWS of its scars as well. The mix reflection in the background also makes it interesting.
Bubbles also make an image interesting. You get this as the GWS splashes down but many times the bubbles cover the shark which is a poor image.
