Alex Mustard and Adam Hanlon discuss the underwater images that were featured in the results of the 2022 Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest. In common with all our contest reviews, the images are all winners already so they attempt to look at them somewhat critically.
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year announced its results at a gala event held in London’s Natural History Museum last night. It is now in its fifty-eight year. Congratulations to Tony Wu on winning the Underwater Category with his quirky image of a spawning sea star. Hearty congratulations got all the underwater photographers among the placings, and especially to the many Wetpixel members and friends.
Alex and Adam discuss the marine-related images that were released by the organizers of the 2022 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Contest. Each year, the contest releases previews of a few of the images that were highly commended and uses these as marketing and to whet people’s appetites for the eventual winners. The team discusses the images, and attempts to discern what this year’s judges are looking for!
