Do you want to see more whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) in a few days than most people see in a lifetime? Every year hundreds of these animals gather off Isla Mujeres, Mexico to feed and it is assumed, to breed. It is the only way to see large numbers of whale sharks reliably and unlike many other whale shark hot spots, no baiting or feeding is involved. If you haven’t witnessed this amazing event, you really should.
Wetpixel is running two trips to unexplored South Komodo aboard the luxury liveaboard, The Seven Seas, in early 2014. The southern sites of Komodo National Park offer a fantastic mix of healthy coral reefs, huge schools of fish, and fascinating macro life. Wetpixel trips specialize in making the most of these stunning opportunities for photographers.
Wetpixel is hosting the ultimate macro photography workshop in October this year. Trip leader and tutor, Alex Mustard will be heading for Lembeh Resort and the group will take over the whole resort for the workshop. The timing is chosen to coincide with an especially critter rich time of the year in Lembeh, and particularly plentiful encounters with ghostpipefish, hairy frogfish and octopus likely. The trip’s dates are from 12 to 23 October 2013.
