Paul Allen finds USS Indianapolis in Philippine Sea
Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, and a search team from the Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC) in Washington D.C. found the resting place of the USS Indianapolis last saturday. The wreck is considered the “last great naval tragedy” of World War II. It was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine and came to rest more than 18,000 feet below the surface of the Philippine Sea.
