Urgent help needed: Rob Stewart missing off Islamorada, Florida
Environmentalist, shark activist and filmmaker Rob Stewart did not return from a dive off Islamorada in the Florida Keys yesterday. Search assets are being mobilised now, and if you have a boat or skills that may be useful in a search and recovery operation, please contact the Florida Coast Guard centre or if you are at sea, the cutter Charles Sexton on channel 16.

Retra provides full specifications for their Flash
Further to Alex Mustard’s preview of the new Retra Flash, the company has released details about it too. The new strobe offers electrical or optical triggering with the latter having S-TTL available. Crucially, Retra have attempted to provide a smooth even light source, emphasizing the quality of light that it produces.
Boxer crabs harbor their own species of anemone
In a new study published in the PeerJ journal, scientists have found that boxer crabs in the Red Sea hold an anemone species that does not occur on its own in the wild. Study author Yisrael Schnytzer, of Israel’s Bar Ilan University found that boxer crabs held clones of single anemones in both claws as well as between individuals. The scientists also found that if the Lybia crabs had only one anemone in a claw, they would tear the anemone in two, stimulating the anemone to regenerate into two new clones of the original anemone.

Canon provides AF guide for EOS 1D X Mark II
Canon has released an 148 page pdf guide to the EOS 1D X Mark II camera’s AF system. It provides: “Information about the effect of different AF Cases, and various other menu settings.” Although it is specific to the 1D X Mark II, most of the information will also apply to the EOS 5D Mark IV too.

Fantasea releases macro lenses
Fantasea has announced three new wet macro conversion lenses. The UCL-O5LF, UCL-06LF and UCL-09F have +6, +12 and +12.5 magnifications respectively and attach with 67mm threads.
