Comments from photographer:
"I jumped into the water and discovered that I only had a half-fill in my tank, but there were so many turtles around (when I finally got to Turtle Pinnacle) that it was easy to get a shot of one. Too bad we didn't have a real wide angle port for the camera (for a more dramatic effect)."

- Day 6 -

[eric and jim, underwater]   We decided last minute to post another day's worth of updates, but I probably won't get around to actually uploading them to the server until I return to San Francisco and have a fast connection again. This Iridium satellite phone thing just isn't fun (I've finally updated the Iridium Log). I bought a devil horn dive hood (made by Terrapin Wetsuits) when Christina opened the boutique in the salon yesterday and took a self portrait with Jim during the dive at Turtle Pinnacle. Fun stuff. :) During the second dive, all of the turtles had scattered[flying fish, from the bow of the boat] (there were nine or ten around during the first dive), so Earl and I floated around aimlessly, trying to prolong the lastbreaths of our week-long diving experience. David got lost on the way to the reef (which thoroughly confused all of us), so he didn't get to take any photos of lethargic turtles. His wife Charla is still making fun of him for it.

The crew has been cleaning the boat all day, while trying to make our last few moments on board pleasant. Most of the guests went out to eat at the Kona Inn tonight, but I ended up going out for cocktails and dinner with Bacchus and his mother (who are both very cool, I might add). Charla is keeping Dave, Jim and I company tonight as we wrap up all of the digital odds and ends. Jim went through all of the digital photos taken on the trip and selected his four favorites for publication (they'll be posted here eventually), and we copied images around to make sure we each had what we needed to complete our respective projects.
