Kongsberg Digital Camera Housing - 250m Depth Rating

The maritime company Kongsberg Simrad is now offering a digital still camera housing for deep diving work.  This 5-megapixel housed camera system is rated for 250 meters. According to the manufacturer: “The oe14-308 is a digital still colour camera ruggedly designed for use by the commercial diver.  When used with the dedicated flashgun (oe11-342) flash synchronisation is achieved via an optical link.” We’re not sure which camera the housing is designed for, but since it uses a 1/1.8 inch CCD and 38 - 114mm lens we can probably guess.

London International Dive Show (LIDS) 2005 ...

Show summary and photos, by Paul NG

“The London International Dive Show (LIDS) is the first big dive show of the year in United Kingdom. One would have thought that the near Artic conditions and inches of snowfall in London would have deterred all but the most hardy from attending. This was not however the case. The crowds gathered in large numbers at the Excel exhibition centre yet again to attend the largest LIDS show to date with over 250 exhibitors offering all manner of diving and diving related services...”

Ikelite Olympus C-7070 Housing

Ikelite wrote us to inform us that the Olympus C-7070 camera fits into their existing C-5060 housing by simply peeling off a rubber bumper.  This makes a nice migration if C-5060 camera trouble is ever experienced.  Ike’s Olympus housings also provide conversion circuitry, allowing real Olympus TTL control for Ikelite SubStrobes.
