I have the 12-24 & 17-55 lens for my D70. For those with shark experience - is there enough contract for AF to work properly? AF-S or AF-C? Or should I prefocus at 2-3 ft & shoot manual focus? I'm thinking only one strobe for fill due to space limitations in cage. Probably will use the 12-24 mostly. Hate to waste a day trying to figure it all out. Thanks guys.

I shot the Tigers in the Bahamas with AF-C, autofocus, 12-24mm and 15mm with no problem

Hi Karl:
Nice to see you on the post. Beautiful image! You are creating magic these days....

For JC- I feel in Guadalupe water can be very clear and great for AF yet I prefer whenever possible to go manual.Much more control, plus water and vis can change quickly.
Pre-focus as you suggested 2-3 feet or more and use AF lock or your AFC lever to lock in.
I use my fins as a point of reference. The 17-55 of course can be more chanllenging. If you do not want to loose "That" shot go manual.
