Recently purchased a Canon 20D camera and was wondering if there are any recommendations on what type of memory storage to use.
New to the digital camera world and was not sure which to use verses Microdrive, Flash, etc. Also is there a particular manufacturer and size that works best? I would imaging the larger the memory is the better but does this become a hinderance and some point?
Thanks for all the input from this forum. You have made the switch from 35mm to digital much easier with your prior research and help.

Congratulations on buying a great camera! I use primarily Lexar and Sandisk, but I think the newer Sandisk cards are slightly faster in the 20D. I'd suggest Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III as your primary CF card.
If you're trying to just get the minimum to get by, I'd suggest either a 2gb or 4gb as your primary card, with a 1gb (which could be a cheaper model or brand) as a backup (in the unlikely event that the primary goes bad on a trip). No matter how much you shoot, 2-4gb will easily hold 2-3 dives worth of photos (in RAW+M, which is what I generally shoot), and if that primary card goes bad, the 1gb card will hold plenty for 1-2 dives at a time for the rest of your dive trip. If you go to www.bhphotovideo.com and type in "Sandisk CF" you'll see the various choices available.

I agree there, the name brand cards seem less troublesome & faster- and you'll want 1 gig minimums, 1 per day then you can number them and cross reference them later. ( or a way to download them ).I have been getting the sandisk ultra 2 @ B & H, currently about $89.00.
Although it's tempting to go with 512 mb, that camera will eat em up fast, and you'll wind upusing the 1 or larger cards.
The camera is a gas- I love mine.
