I have seen a lot of people talking about using a +4 diopter (close-up lens) on the Nikkor 105 macro lens, and I was wondering if anyone knew if you can fit one on in the Ikelite flat port w/focus?

There is also a lot of talk about the Woody's wet mount diopter, but what does an "additional 20% image size increase " equal in diopter strength. Does anyone know or how do you calculate it? I'm at work right now so I don't really feel like thinking. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Also, beside being able to add/remove the Woody's during the dive, can anyone comment on the pros/cons of either option?

The Nikon 4T will barely touch and scratch the end of the port with the 105....the Nikon 3T works because it's approximately 1/16" shorter.....you could use the 4T with manual focus and just not rack the focus all the way out.

I've used the 3T and the Woody's diopter at the same time with good results on the 105. I find it handy to be able to take it off during the dive for certain subjects.

I also got very good results with the 60macro and Woody's.

Does the Woody's fit the Ikelite port without modification? If so, which one?

Yes.....#CL100

BTW, only use Nikon diopters....the cheaper units are single element while the Nikon and Canon diopter are double element

I'm going to get a Woody (hehehe....) Diopter in a few days. It's stuck in customs at the moment. I'm planning on trying it with a 4T , MF.
I Should order a 3T as well someday...
