When I look at the Ikelite web site, I see that the Nikon 17-35 takes the #5503.55, and the 60 mm macro lens will take the #5506, and the 105 takes the #5508.05.

I’m not going to buy and schlep 3 ports for the Ikelite D100 housing.

Which 1 or 2 ports do y'all recommend?

This may be a silly question, but help me out here....If I shoot the D100 with the 60 or the 105 in the macro mode, how far from a 1 inch nudibranch will I be able to physically hold the Dual DS-125/D100 camera system for the subject to fill the frame? My old CP5K system required me to get right on the subject and then switch to macro. Am I confusing the digital vs. film 1.5:1 ratio here? I'm confused.

Thanks to all of your in advance!

Your working distance for 1:1 macro doesn't change because of the 1.5x digital crop. The 105 has about twice the working distance of the 60 for the same 1:1 magnification. Using the 60 and a flat port you have to be within several inches to get 1:1 magnification. I like the 60 as you can shoot much larger subjects than the 105. However the greater working distance of the 105 is a clear advantage for small macro subjects.

You can shoot macro behind a dome port. Some argue the optics and color are better but you do get more magnification with the flat port. So getting a dome port long enough to accommodate you macro lens could be a solution. The 105 autofocus doesn't seem to work well UW. Most shooters prefer to use this lens with manual focus. The Ike 105 focus port works well with this lens.[/u]
