Has anyone used the 200mm F4 ED in the AD100 housing. Does it work without removing the lens collar?
james
Craig has used this lens underwater - let's see what he says.

I use the Aquatica and I had to get the tripod collar removed from my 70-180 to get it into the port extension. I assume the same will be true for the 200.

I've used the 200mm but not with the Aquatica port. I'd be surprised if you didn't have to remove the tripod collar, though. It's very similar to the 70-180 in size and takes the exact same port with my Nexus.

That sucks - it makes it useless as a topside lens, and it is really a niche lens underwater. I guess I'll try to find an AIS 200 micro instead. They go for under $300 on ebay and I could stomach mutilating one if necessary. Or I'll just stick with my kenko TC + 105mm.

Been out of the loop for several days.

I have the 200mm with fixed tripod collar. It would have required a custom port from Ikelite and cutting off the tripod collar, not a simple task.

I was able to use it in the A90 housing without removing the collar. I have not tried it with the AD100. Will check tonight among other things.

Got to go to the quarry. Nine students waiting for me to kill them.

Here's a 200 f4 AI lens for sale on ebay for a buy it now of $375:

Sure, you won't be able to meter with it - but you're shooting manual anyway. No AF? Probably won't be using that either w/ the 200...

Just a heads up.
