I've been reading the reports on the Ikelite and Aquatica DRebel housings with great interest. I'm hoping to house a Drebel in one of these two as soon as someone properly sorts out TTL - so Aquatica sounds like the go as soon as the ICU is released.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what strobes might be expected to work TTL with this system.
I presume the DS-125 would.
I've heard the Inon's aren't very Canon compatible in general.
What about older (and cheaper) Ike strobes, which pop up on Ebay quite frequently. Some are meant to be TTL compatible.
I haven't heard from Aquatica in this regard, and I know they're still testing. I note BMazin was using DS-125 in his report published here with the A300/non ICU.
Any thoughts also as to the feasibility of installing the ICU into the Ike housing?

I know currently they have Sea and Sea and Ikelite strobes working and anticipate having the Inon working soon.

Since this is a preflash system, I think the strobes need to be able to fire a preflash and then after a VERY short time, the main flash. Strobes like the Ike and Sea and Sea have a circuit that can recycle fast enough to do this. I doubt that older strobes will be able to keep up.
We'll have to wait and see.

I emailed Blake at Aquatica and got an official reply to this question regarding the Digital Rebel housing with ICU (Thanks Blake!)
Sounds like they've tested it with the DS-125 so far, so that's the only strobe compatibility that's definite. I'm still wondering how the older Ike non-ds strobes would go. Sounds like DS-125 may be the safe bet for now.
