I'd like to put in a plug for Aquatica's customer service.
I recently purchased a Aquatica S2 through B&H in New York. Although I was very pleased with the overall quality and build of the housing, when I tried installing my camera I felt that a couple of the controls did not work as smoothly or align as precisely as I thought they should.
When I called B&H's customer service dept. they said I could return the housing for a refund or I could give Aquatica a call and see what they said. So, I called Norma at Aquatica and expained my problem. Her answer was that they had seen several Fuji S2's that had slightly different dimensions and that if I sent the housing back to them with my camera they would make any adjustments necessary to make sure that everything worked to my satisfaction.
I was a little skeptical and I also explained to Norma that I use my camera to shoot my daughter's H.S. Basketball games and since it was the middle of the season I didn't want to be without my camera for a long period of time. She asssured me that they would make any ajustments and turn my camera around in only a day or two.
I am pleased to report that in just a little over a week from the day I shipped my housing to them I have my camera and housing back and everything is working 100%. I only missed one basketball game and they covered the shipping costs too.
All of my calls to B&H and Aquatica were handled professionally and promptly and I did not feel like I was getting the old run-around for one second. Aquatica stood by there produce and made good on all their promises.
All I can say is that Aquatica came through for me and in a couple of weeks it'll be time to get this thing wet.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your S2 and Aquatica housing very much Larry. Thanks for the report.

Doesn’t seem possible, but stranger things have been known to happen.
Nice to hear you had a pleasant experience.

I have also heard that they are different sizes. That was from Sea and Sea who were pretty stumped!

That's not so far-fetched! Several years ago when I bought a new Nikon N90 and an Aquatica housing, the bulkhead hotshoe attachment would not make proper contact with the hotshoe. It turned out that Nikon had made a microscopic change in the hotshoe dimensions. Aquatica replaced the bulkhead attachment and it worked fine.
I'm on my second Aquatica housing now, and my third housing (some ways in the future) will be Aquatica too. They make good stuff, and they stand behind it.

It may happen more often than you might think.
I've worked on a lot of Coolpix 990s... IR mods, major re-configuration for deep ocean cameras, etc., and have noticed that there are at least two different case designs... very subtle differences though.

Hi Mark,
Have you worked on the Coolpix remote control system for ROV's like the Phantom? I've seen it in action (the ROV and the housed coolpix) and think it's tremendously cool!
Cheers
