Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can comment on taking a Sola 600 (or anything from that series) past 100m?
I know it's rated to 90-100m, though had had some whacky behaviour past that at about 125m. I'm hoping someone can validate this and it's not just me having a bad day.
Fair enough if it doesn't if it doesn't work past it's rated depth, but I just want to know for sure. Since I need the light to focus at that depth (typically black), it's quite an important component of my setup.

Hey Damo,
I'm not to sure about who's having the wacky behaviour running past 125m.
Are you trying to get the box of death to its job ?

Hi Pete,
Just read my original post, which has the grammar of a 5 year old. What I meant to say was I've seen issue on a dive to 125m. Specifically they were:
1. The slider did not spring back (from forward position), but you could slide this manually.
2. The white light would not turn on, but red was fine. (I've actually seen this subsequently so it might just just be my unit - got it on video if you want to see).
On that particular dive I was a little scattered due to a wild DPV descent, so I quickly gave up on the light and camera. As such I can't say this with my hand on my heart, hence I was looking for validation from others.
I like the Solas and have no issue if they don't work at this depth (ie. 20m past it rating). As it standards though, I probably won't use it again past 100m.
ps. I've no plans to kill myself on a box of death (that was soooo 90's), you'll just have to put up with me. Drinking too much vodka on a Vanuatu beach this New Years, now that's something I'm really worried about.
