Hey guys - Just got back Sunday from Bonaire. I got a new Sigma 17-70 lens for Christmas and was itching to try it out - as well as my new Ikelite 161 strobe. The excuse being that my son and I are going to Palau in May and I wanted to make sure to get some time in the water with the new gear. (anything excuse for a dive trip ).

I really like the Sigma lens - I found that it had sharp edges and was very versatile in the water. I would love to see what your feedback is on some of the pics I took with this as well as the new strobe. I moved my 125 to my secondary strobe position and used the 161 as my primary.

I like the pics with the remora

Thanks for the feedback. The remora rode on my son's gear and kept swimming around his head cleaning him for about 35 minutes. He complained about having a sore head when we got done. I even got some video of the remora cleaning his head.

Steve - Thanks - I do not know about you, but it helps to see feeback on there sometimes.

The new strobe worked well. I did not notice any differences in color temp between the 161 and the 125. I am using this combination on my rig setup. I tried the video light a couple of times and cannot make up my mind about this part of it.

The only con is can see so far is that it needed to be charged more often than my 125. Not sure about why this is so yet.
