In galleries I have linked a slide show from my trip to San Benedicto and Roca Partida this last January.

This trip has been discussed in other posts. A few thoughts of mine. This was my fifth trip to the Islands. I saw more hammerheads and silver tips than on any other trip. Fewer silkies and galapagos sharks. No tiger sharks and fortunately no nets or fishing boats.

This remains a premier destination to have Mantas swim up to you, stop in front of your face, and stare at you. I'm convinced it is better to watch them than to pet them. They like it better and spend more time with you. They love to hover above you and let your bubbles tickle you.

As mentioned we had a diver bent. He didn't get symptoms until we reached the Sea of Cortez. He followed the rules and didn't violate his computer. What he did do is dive air with a group of divers that were on Nitrox. Even though he didn't violate his computer I suspect he pushed the limits to keep up with his group. My lesson from this is don't dive air if everyone else is on Nitrox. Your betting against the house.

Here is the other post and link to the slide show:

I almost forgot. A shout out to Tony at Reef Photo. A window fell out of my housing on Christmas eve. I mailed the housing out to Reef photo that morning and he got it back in time for my trip. Thank you very much.
