Well, seems like my couple of months old 500D is already obsolete. With the much improved movie capabilities (manual exposure, stero mic) it seems better suited for UW use if you like to take the occational film-snapp too.

Slightly changed body, will existing 500D housings fit?

Wow, it looks like a mini 7D - very good news.

I was thinking the same thing. Been kicking around the idea of smaller bodies for some things. Expanded exposure compensation +/- 5 for HDR and alot of other nice improvements.

Here's the official page:

Canon Rebel T2i/ 550D

Slow motion playback, 7x crop at SD 480p (hmmm) and SDXC cards too! Nice.

And $1,000.00 less! That is good for additional new glass.

Wonder what the new 60D at the $1200 price range will have?

I'm looking to upgrade to FF though. Waiting for the 5DmIII here.

In another thread it is reported that the 550D will fit in a 500D case. But I wonder if there is a way to shoot video without access to the added button.

Had some problems with my sea&sea mdx 40 and 50d ( flooding three times and destroyed 2 cameras) and now need to get a new camera. Im really looking at getting the t2i.

Since there has been some time for it to get wet, Any one have reviews of the camera underwater?

Berkley from Backscatter has been shooting the T2i recently in the Pacific and will have his feedback shortly on the Backscatter website. (see side bar to link to it)
