just finished 10 day dive trip in Philippines. Conditions universally murky, don't know if this is unseasonable or i was mislead about diving this early in the year.
wide angle was waste of time but fortunately lots critters and small fish - largest quantity and variety of anemonefish i've ever seen, nudibranchs, pipefish, etc.
in good light, i think the new lens is noticeably quicker to autofocus with less hunting than the old 100M - useable but not great for small fish. in marginal light it needs a focus light, but between focus light aiming problems and backscatter my results were less conclusive -- but under better conditions i think there would be a noticeable difference in autofocus.
but for UW only, i can't strongly recommend an upgrade if you have a 100M
can anyone recommend something better for small fish that will autofocus from 2 to 4 ft? 85 1.8 w/+1 or +2?
