Hi folks,
We did a few dives in the Aliwal shoals area in S Africa, Dec 09. The water is not super clear
this time of the year, but we did manage to introduce my new Canon G11 to a few sharks
(raggies, blacktips and solitary tiger) and some other marine life.

Here's the link to my travel blog and photos..

The first few photos are from the dives, except for a couple of great white shots taken
from a viewing boat in Gansbaai (an activity I would not recommend to friends); the rest are all from Kruger.

Cheers,
Ajay.

Some great shots there, im looking forward to getting my G11 wet. Were you using a strobe as well for the UW shots? What sort of settings were you using?

Looks like you had a great trip!

Thanks for sharing,
Mark

Thanks Mark,

I used an Inon Z220s strobe fired in slave mode using an optical cable; mostly 100 ISO,
and I think 80% of the shots were in Tv-mode (timing priority) at 1/125sec; the rest were
in P mode.

Great trip? yes -- S Africa turned out to be rather more attractive than I had expected.

cheers,
Ajay.
