Hi,
I've recently purchased a Hugyfot housing for my Nikon D200 and I'd like to use my Tokina 12-24 underwater. I plan to buy a Nikon 10.5, so I'll end up with the Hugyfot fisheye dome (part number FEP 6.178).
According to Hugy, the Tokina 12-24 can be used with a smaller dome (WAP-6.290). The thing is that I'd like to use only one dome, and since Hugy says that the Nikon 12-24 can be used... my questions are:
- has anyone used the Tokina 12-24 + FEP 6.178 dome port?
- what zoom gear should I use with this lens (Tokina)?
Thanks in advance,
Juanma
Hi juanma,
I use the D200 in a Hugyfot housing as well and i'm sure the 12-24 tokina will work in the FE domeport, but you most likely wil need a 20 mm extension ring. I used the FE domeport for my sigma 10-20 mm without extension and that gave sharp pictures (in general do larger domports give sharper images and proper allighment is less critical then with small domeports). The only disadvantage of a large dome is that you sometimes will see reflections of the port in your picture. The zoomgear you need is mentioned on the Hugyfot website and is numbered GEA-6.598.
good luck, Udo
