I don't know if it came with a software update or whether it was there all the time I didn't notice but the CS3 RAW converter has a layer of controls which include the lens vignette effect and chromatic aberration sliders but it also has a single button to correct colour fringing. It's marked 'Defringe'. So it solves the problem of achromatic aberration of the 10-17 in one simple hit. Someone tell me I hadn't noticed it until about a month ago but it was there all the time.

(When I was a glamour photographer all my skill lay in hiding the pimple on the bottom. Nowadays the healing tool removes a pimple in one simple hit!)
