Sounds ok for the most part.

I only got about half way through it before I got board but the only thing I noticed was that you got the 1Ds II /D2x timeline wrong. The 1Ds mark II was actually released BEFORE the D2X.

Here is how I remember the timeline:

September 16 2004: Nikon published the D2X's specifications (press release).
September 21 2004: Canon published the 1Ds mark II's specification (press release)
Early October 2004: Canon 1Ds mark II is released (actual cameras are available)
Late Feburary 2005: Nikon D2x is released (actual cameras available)

One question though, looks like you put a lot of effort into it but who did you write this for? I can not figure out the point of listing camera and housing specifications.

Adminstrator for digideep asked me to write it .

Oh, ok, so then you mean it to be more of a Secam housing review than a Camera review. It might be more clear if you title it Secam 1Ds II housing review rather than 1Ds II review.
scubadude
Well it was for both which is why each section is subtitled

It seems more like brochure information pulled off their websites rather than a 'review'

QUOTE (your review)
Gears: we supply the suitable gears for a great variety of lenses for setting the aperture, distance, focus and zoom
so 'WE' sell them do you.

I didn't bother reading it all as it seems to be completely lacking in opinion and any review technique at all.

QUOTE (your review)
Also this housing has a built in moisture alarm to increase prevention from flooding
I don't believe that is correct.. the alarm simply tells you you messed up and you just lost $6000.

If memory serves I also agree with William on the timeline .. i may be wrong that may have been the 1d mkII that came out before the D2X but the D2X is really new compared to both Canons in my mind.

It seems that any information in here that you may have wrote rather than copied from somewhere is not backed up or correct and the rest is probably sales pitches from websites with the tech specs.

Sorry if that seems harsh ... but it's the way it came across just from a simple glance, which is all I was able to do as I was expecting opinions not specification sheets.

Talking of this though .. Eric and James ... how come we have never had this from you guys ? is this not found in your dive bags ?

Hi Giles,

I wrote a review of the Seacam S2pro housing a few years ago. I guess I am just too lazy to have written a review of the 1DsmkII housing. Steve Frink did a really nice review and field journal, and we also got a few supplementary reviews from Seacam users. Check the library.

Cheers

Yea thats what steve does he always does amazing reviews

As clarification, I appreciate Chris' enthusiasm for Seacam, but I have now had a few private e-mails implying that perhaps I was behind this promotional effort. Chris took a photo class from me and bought a Seacam housing from me, but we have no business relationship, nor did I know about the review prior to it being posted. Stephen Frink Photo has no apprentices on staff.

I was wondering that as I noted on his site that he states he was an apprentice of yours. Thanks for clarifying.

That said I hope he enjoys and benefits from the members of Wetpixel.
