Thom just came out with his 2006 predictions and he's hoping for an AFS 105mm from Nikon. This would be great for UW shooters more than anyone.

I used the 105mm on my trip to Turks and Caicos and loved it. I found AF to be acceptable actually--preferable to MF especially for my type of shoot 1-3 shots and run style of diving. But it did hunt a lot and AFS would make this a fantastic lens.

If true I'd be happy to put my gently used 105 on ebay.

By the way...Thom also predicted a prime rectilnear DX wide (how wide? he doesn't say), which I would love to see. How about between 9 and 11 mm f2.8, or f4 if it's priced accordingly? Rear filter same as the 10.5DX?

Yes a DX equivelent to the 14mm (9mm) would be the ticket. Its ok to dream.
