I am in the process of looking for a housing for my Canon 20D. I am leaning towards Ikelite mainly becasue of the pricing.
I am doing some reaserch about what is the minimum amount of gear that I would need.
I have a few questions:
What is the main difference between Ikelite DS-50 and DS-125 ?
Control? Power?
Should I get only one strobe?
Are 2 strobes better only for macro work or do people also use for wider shots?
For the dome:
Should I get the 8" because it will fit more lens choices? Is it worth it?
Anyone selling their equipment?
Thanks in advanced.

Lots of questions there Roberto. Some of them have already been replied to in previous threads. Anyway, here are some quick answers:
1) Main differences between DS50 and DS125: More power, wider angle of coverage, faster recycle time, adjustable power setting, and modelling light. Bottom line: if you can afford it, get the DS125 over the DS50 any time.
2) That's again a budget issue, if you can afford them, get 2. Even if you only shoot one for a start, it still provides redundancy. As for actual shooting, dual strobes system can be used for both macro and wide angle work. For macro, you can play with shadows and lighting angles, while with wide-angle lenses, you can illuminate very large scenes (e.g. with a fisheye lens).
3) Regarding wider domes, they're generally better because they fit a wider range of lenses, allow more lenses to focus without the need for a diopter, and they shed water better when shooting over/unders.
Happy spending!
