Full Version: Any predictions on Canon DSLR pricing?

It's a gamble. I want a DSLR with two lenses, wide & tele-zoomish. Canon has up to triple rebate now on the RebXT if you buy 3 things plus a free printer ($150). That could mean $225 off just the camera body! I examined one yesterday, they are small, even in my medium male hands, not sold on the "fit", but like everything else about the camera.

Anyone think there could be a pricing down of the 20D after the rebates end? [If this question is unethical please indicate - I am fairly new here.] Thanks.

Dont just look at the camera.

Also look into what kind of housing and flashes you want.

This is important because theese things cost more than the camera body itself (much more)

I went with the 350d and will probably choose the sea&sea housing.

Hi Vannar,

For u/w I'm going with IKE and the 125, that's a given. My choice is still weighted to the topside use of the camera for telephoto. That XT is very light; but of course, I'll have to try one with a telephoto lens, the extra weight may help.

To answer your pricing question, i highly doubt the prices will drop more than the amount of the rebates. If you want to get one of theses cameras, i suggest buying it now. it is a great deal with the rebates.

as far as the fit thing goes, if it really bothers you about how small it is, get the battery grip. it will make the camera bigger, give you the capability of having 2 batteries, and the option to use AA's if needed, and gives you the vertical shutter button and controls. For the price (around $145), it is an excellent piece of equipment to have.
