Hi all, here are some news that if true will make a lot of people happy. I found these links at dpreview:

http://www.club-nikon.org/links/AFS105.htm

http://www.club-nikon.org/links/70_300Gvr.htm

The AFS 105 (if true) will be excellent for those that shoot with relatively slow focusing cameras (D50, D70, D100, etc). The 70-300 is nice, but not really usable underwater. I will certainly get the 105 as soon as available, the one Canon lens I always envied was the 100 USM, I really hope the rumor is true.

The VR designation on the 105 makes it look like a hoax to me. Too bad too.

Also I can't see a switch to turn the VR on and off!

If it is anything like my 70-200 AFS VR, the switch to turn the VR on/off is below the M/A - M switch, with the angle this lens is shown at that section of the switch would not be visible.

Not that it makes this any more likely...

But this lens would fill out Boi's signature line nicely, eh?

Exactly what I was thinking this morning.

I don't know if this is worth anything, but this site was the first to post photos of the 18-200, a week before the official announcement:

Comparing this image to the VR Logo Plate on the 24-120 and this one looks legit.

YES, YES, YES!!!!

If true, I'll be the first on my block to have one.

What's with the plate that says "N" instead of "ED" Is that a new type of Nikon glass or something? (ED - Extralow Dispersion)

Cheers

I think it has to do with the "Nano Crystal Coat", but I have no idea what that means... blink.gif

The 105mm doesn't look as sexy as the current version :-/

If we are talking about Nikon rumors then here few more:
- Two new lens in 2006: 10-24mm / 2.8 and 9mm /2.8 rectangle.
- New Camera D2-Xs FF 16.9 MB.

We can only pray and hope that part of that rumour is true - any part will be fine., biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

The links and info about the lenses were removed. It appears that it was a fake afterall... sad.gif

If they are not, (and I think they do) then they should be working on replacement for these older lenses, I too heard about a possible 9mm Rectilinear and a very short and fast zoom lens, but a Full Frame body! don't think so Arnon, not with the commitment they have with the DX serie of lenses, it's half frame for thoses guys, if you ever see one, lift the Nikon sticker on the top cover and it should say Canon underneath biggrin.gif

My secret sources also say that they are not a fake, I guess it is just wait and see...
