There was a lot of talk about the size of the D200 viewfinder, a very important quality of any UW camera. But nobody could ever do an objective comparison. Well, I just found one, this Chinese magazine photographed the viewfinders of the D200, D2x and D70s, here is the result:

The D200 viewfinder is actually larger than the D2x, but the eyepoint is shorter, meaning that you can see the entire image on the D2x viewfinder from further back. It will be interesting to see how the D200 viewfinder will be in housings. I am guessing at least as good as the D2x.

Physically D200 VF is quite a bit smaller but upclose it does look fairy comparable to D2X. However I did not think that it looked larger.
I When viewing from a couple of inches away, there might be a problem.

Thanks Luiz.

It should make it a fantastic camera for topside (where unfortunately I'll probably be using it most) and if it is already as magnified as those grabs suggest - it should be relatively easy to fashion a magnifier to extend the eyepoint for housing use.
