10-17mm fish eye
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0512/05120103...x_fishizoom.aspThis lens would be a sweet underwater lens. A FF fisheye and the UWA zoom in one.

.. and now everybody have fisheyelenses, exept us canon 1.6 crop owners...
nikon their 10.5, olympus the 8 mm, and now this.... But I will not give up.. I'm sure there will be a 180 degree 10 mm fisheye for the 20d/300d/350d someday .... in 2025...

When I read the title of this thread, I thought yeah, yeah, yeah...
Then I read the specs and thought Oh Yeah!
This sounds very cool. I wonder if anyone will ever take it underwater?
Alex
And I wonder if it has a rear mounted filter slot?

Possible good news for Canon users is that this lens is co developed by Tokina, so maybe there might be a Tokina version available at some point, possibly in Canon and Nikon mounts?

I saw that too. But the press release says "lens is designed exclusively for use with the Pentax"
exclusive design says to me that the design will not be used on other mounts.

It is great that such an exotic lens is released. I would have bet the “old” Pentax fisheye zoom 17-28mm designed for film will be something of the film past. Kudos to Pentax designing such an interesting lens for digital crop cameras. Nice to see a manufacture not limiting its lens line-up to the money making mass sellers, like stupid Canon does! If this would be available for Canon mount, I would buy this lens right away.

Yeah, but maybe they are just saying that now. All that is exclusive is the size of the image circle projected by the lens. And the Canon sensor size is actually smaller than the Pentax!
Fingers crossed.

I assumed that if Tokina will see a good option to sell it to others manufactors they will build somthing to the big players also, after all the Nikon-Canon market is huge comparing to the Pentax's
At list I hope so

, its looks great.
