Does anyone using this lens have to do correction in Nikon Capture. Does this apply to on land also? - thanks

Hi, I think it only applies on land, and just if you want lines to look straight. I have no problem what so ever with its distortion underwater because it is hard to find straight lines underwater anyways (unless you are in a shipwreck). I've never used the software correction for my UW photos taken with this lens.

I correct on wedding pics, but the rest I think there is no need unless it is really distorted and takes away from the image. Actually, I've never tried to correct an underwater pic to see what it would look like. Hmmmm.

Somehow I find the fisheye’s perspective often more natural underwater than wideangles. Especially with divers in the picture, I find extreme wideagnles can look unpleasantly distorted. Especially corners look stretched out and distorted to me compared to fisheyes underwater. I agree that this is different with wrecks. But without straight lines as reference, I prefer the fisheyes perspective for underwater.

I used the correction tool several times just to check if the picture would become better. Until now I always preferred the original (uncorrected) version.
The "fisheye look" has it's own special effect, which is so nice. Especially underwater, because there are hardly straight lines.
