Wetpixel Quarterly ships issue 3

for immediate release

SAUSALITO, Calif. — May 25th, 2008 —Wetpixel LLC is proud to announce the immediate availability of issue #3 of Wetpixel Quarterly magazine. In its trademark landscape-oriented, high-resolution format, issue #3 celebrates the American underwater landscape by showcasing the work of Alex Kirkbride, who spent three years photographing the waters of America’s 50 states.

Also featured are the winners of 2008’s Our-World Underwater and DEEP Indonesia photo competitions, run annually by Wetpixel and DivePhotoGuide. This collection of diverse imagery is truly an international celebration of the underwater world, featuring the photography of artists from 18 different countries. A partial gallery of the winners was displayed at this year’s Our-World Underwater exhibition in Chicago, Illinois, and at DEEP Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Christopher Bahnsen writes about the colonony of 60 to 100 gigantic green sea turtles who have somehow thrived in San Diego Bay, one of the busiest, most developed natural harbors in the world. These particular Eastern Pacific green turtles are super-sized, some weighing more than 550 pounds—almost double the average size of the same species in other habitats.

Wetpixel Quarterly #3 has shipped to subscribers worldwide, who can expect to receive their copies in 1-3 weeks. Individual copies are available at http://www.wetpixelquarterly.com.
