Wetpixel Bahamas Sharks/Dolphins Expeditions, July 2007

Wetpixel is running two charters to the Bahamas this coming July, 2007!  The first trip (July 10-21, 2007) is a trip in search of oceanic white-tip sharks; we were successful in 2006, and there’s no reason to think that we won’t be this year.  We’ll also be looking for tiger sharks, reef sharks, dolphins, and more.

The second (July 23-31, 2007) is a “classic” tigers and dolphins trip, which combines a traditional shark expedition with dolphin experiences and beautiful summer weather.

With the legendary Jim Abernethy as our guide, we’ll be aboard the M/V Shear Water, a small liveaboard dive vessel that leaves out of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Spots are extremely limited, so book now!  Booking information is at the bottom of this page.

*UPDATE, JAN 29, 2007* Both trips have booked full! Get on the waiting list by contacting Jim Abernethy’s Scuba Adventures!

TRIP SPECIFICS
—————————-

TRIP 1:  July 10-21 Bahamas: Oceanic White-Tip Sharks, Silkies, Tigers, and more
$4,000 per person ($1,000 deposit due immediately + $3,000 due April 10, 2007)
2 spots left.  Refund only if spot replaced.

Guide: Jim Abernethy
Photography Expertise: Eric Cheng, Tony Wu, Alex Mustard

On this 11-day expedition, we’ll focus on photographing oceanic white-tip sharks, with other sharks (and dolphins, if there is demand) as secondary subjects.  This year, we’ll go directly to where we found them last year, which will hopefully save a few days of looking.  After we nail oceanics, the trip will convert to a standard tigers/dolphins expedition.  Everyone always wants to go to Tiger Beach, so we’ll definitely do that before returning to port.

For more information on what to expect, see my travel journal from our exploratory trip in 2006.
