Doug Robertson has been announced as the champion of the Visions in the Sea Summer Series underwater photography competition. The series of weekends held around the UK coastline provided a range of great entries including seals, tompot blennies, crustaceans, wrecks and other UK favourites but it was a Basking Shark taken off the coastline of Cornwall in June that was the overall winner. The prize was awarded at the Dive Show at the NEC in October. In second place was Tom Tyler with his macro shot of a Spider Crab taken in the Menai Strait. Doug said:

“I’m delighted! The weekend in Cornwall with Frogfish Photography and Charlie Hood was just the best, and this is the icing on the cake.”

The Visions in the Sea Summer Series welcomed both SLR and compact camera users alike. It will be back in 2011 with more weekend workshops around the UK coastline.
