Nick Hope has posted a prologue to his forthcoming 90-minute documentary, “Mucky Secrets,” on the forums. It was shot with a Sony HVR-Z1P HDV camera with a Century Optics +3.5 achromatic diopter in a Light & Motion Bluefin HD housing with Light & Motion Elite halogen lights. The quality of the footage shows that you don’t necessarily have to have the best equipment.
The film will be about the weird and wonderful marine life of the Lembeh Strait and he plans to release on his Bubble Vision YouTube channel. He hopes to have it ready in a month or so.
He spent a lot of time in post-production, colour-correcting with curves in Sony Vegas Pro and doing advanced deinterlacing and resizing in AviSynth to make the quality as good as possible.
