Adobe unveils Content Aware Crop
Adobe has previewed a new feature that will be featured in a forthcoming major release of Photoshop CC. Content-Aware Crop will use the company’s Content-Aware technology to “intelligently” fill in the gaps when you use the Crop tool to rotate an image or expand your canvas beyond the image’s original size.

Adobe offers preview of new video editing features
Adobe has given a sneak preview of forthcoming enhancements to Premiere Pro and its other video apps. The new features focus on new media management, giving greater control over the ingest process. Premiere will work natively with 6K or 8K files and Premiere can automatically generate low res proxies on import, allowing editing on less powerful systems. The Lumetri color panel has been also been revised.
Adobe adds Technology Previews to Lightroom on the Web
Adobe has added a new feature to its Lightroom on the Web service. “Technology Previews” are where Adobe will allow user to test drive new functionalities before they are incorporated into final versions. The current new technology is a search function that uses Adobe’s new image analysis technology to locate images.
Adobe announces new and updated Creative Cloud apps
Significant new and upgraded Creative cloud apps have been announced at Adobe’s MAX Conference today. New mobile apps include Photoshop Fix and Adobe capture CC, while Lightroom mobile gets updated capabilities. On the desktop, Lightroom gets local Dehaze adjustments and a new, simplified import dialog. Premiere Pro now offers comprehensive native UHD support with additional color and HDR workflows. Adobe has also announced Portfolio, which offers Creative Cloud subscribers the ability to create portfolio websites.
Adobe releases Photoshop and Premiere Elements 14
Adobe has released version 14 of their Photoshop and Premiere Elements programs. Both offer automatic, guided or manually controlled editing options and simplify sharing images and video to social media and sharing platforms. They also offer the ability to sort images and video via facial recognition, location or activity.
Adobe updates the Creative Cloud
Adobe has just released a major update to the Creative Cloud. Creative Cloud 2015 includes significant new features in Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC. The previously trailed Dehaze slider has been added to Lightroom along with localized white and black slider adjustments, while Photoshop gets performance improvements to healing brush and patch tools as well as to Content Aware Move and Extend functions.
Adobe announces OS compatibility for Lightroom 6
In the first official announcement about it, Adobe has set out which operating systems Lightroom 6 will support. It will only work with Mac OS X 10.8 or above, or 64 bit versions of Windows 7, 8 or 8.1. Given that Windows 10 was announced today, it is likely that it will be supported too. The announcement does not set out when Lightroom 6 will be released, nor whether there will be a beta version as there has been with previous versions of the software.
Adobe announces Aperture to Lightroom plug-in
Adobe has announced the release of a Lightroom plug-in that imports Aperture Photo libraries into Lightroom. In addition, they are offering new Creative Cloud memberships a bonus of 3 months of membership to the KelbyOne training site, which has tutorials on switching from Aperture to Lightroom.
