Subal are shipping their housing for the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. It features all the standard Subal features and is compatible with Subal’s existing viewfinders and ports. In addition, there is a new 30° prism finder that gives a better viewing angle of the camera’s LCD screen. It has two accessory and two fiber optic ports.

The Subal CD5 MIV is shipping now, priced at €3,958.80 in the EU and €3,299 for export.

SUBAL announces CD5 MIV housing for Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

With the SUBAL CD5 MIV for the Canon EOS 5D mark IV, SUBAL offers an aluminum housing for the latest development of the compact full-frame SLRs from Canon, SUBAL without restrictions in the angle! There is no limit to the creativity of the underwater photographers.

The ergonomic SUBAL design and arrangement of all important elements of the housing allows the camera easy operation without letting go of the handle. The camera is mounted on a special sled, to secure the camera with precision into the housing. This allows a faster and secure mounting. A 4 mm O ring and the SUBAL Quick Lock closure system, prevents accidental crushing of the O-ring and ensures maximum safety.

The Subal monitor window, provides a glare-free view of the brilliant image of the camera monitor, and supports ideally the HD-video function of the camera. Focus lights can be attached or mounted to the top shoe.

Only high quality materials are used to produce Subal housings. A precise manufacturing process followed by the surface protection finish, to conform the standard quality level that you get in every SUBAL product.

SUBAL offers for this housing model, 4 different viewfinder systems:

• The standard viewfinder narrows the viewfinder image, so that it can fully be overlooked despite diving mask.

• The GS 180 and the 45° viewfinder offer a view in size approximately corresponding to the camera’s viewfinder, with the insight of the GS-180 horizontally, the insight of the WS-45 under 45 °.

• The new Prism Finder PS-30 shows the camera monitor image at the same size at a viewing angle of 30 °. The insight is with normal reading distance, which is why the PS-30 ideal for video recording especialy as this camera has 4K video. All Subal viewfinders systems are interchangeable and can be mounted easily by the user.

All SUBAL ports with bayonet mount on this case can be used (except DP-FE2).

Technical data:

Seawater resistant aluminum alloy machined from the block. Hard coating and corrosion treatment is applied to the surface of the housing. In addition 3 layers of powder coating paint are applied to give the housing the unique SUBAL color and finish. All parts are made of hard-anodized light alloy, acid-resistant stainless steel and high quality plastics, to endure all working conditions. SUBAL QuickLock closure system.
