Spotlight on Blue: Willem and the Whales

There are few things as cute or as powerful as children speaking about their love for animals. Last night, the Blue Ocean Film Festival screened the PSA, Willem and the Whales, by the Marine Mammal Conservation Through the Arts, featuring Willem, an adorable advocate for the world’s largest mammals.

Commercial whaling is unacceptable.  On June 21, 2010, the U.S. Delegate to the International Whaling Commission (IWC) plans to vote to suspend the 25-year ban on commercial whaling.

There is still time to make a difference.  Sign the NRDC petition and tell President Obama to keep his campaign promise of strengthening the global moratorium on commercial whaling!

Sign the NRDC Petiton.

President Obama said it himself: “Allowing Japan to continue commercial whaling is unacceptable” —Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, March 16, 2008.
