Academy award winner and ocean advocate Leonardo diCaprio’s latest film, Before the Flood, focuses on the subject of climate change. The documentary follows diCaprio as he travels around the world chronicling the dangers of climate change. diCaprio collaborated with director Fisher Stevens, of the 2009 Oscar winning film The Cove, on the making of the film.
This is what Stevens has to say about the film: “For two and a half years we went on a journey to learn about the effects of climate change. How far it has gone, why there are still people denying it, and whether it is too late to do anything about it. We’re extremely proud that National Geographic is helping us bring this odyssey to the world.”
Before the Flood premieres this week at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released to theaters on October 21st of this year as well as televised on the National Geographic Channel.
