French book on Digital Underwater Photography

Wetpixel members Isabelle and Amar Guillen have recently details of their new book “Digital Underwater Photography: a practical guide”. The book is the first in french dedicated to underwater photography with digital cameras (both SLR or compact systems are covered). The book is aimed at both the beginner as well as the more advanced underwater photographer planning to move over to digital photography. At this time the book is only available in French, but they are hoping to offer an English language version in the future.

The press release continues “The book covers macro, wide angle, night photography, action pictures, still photography, problems specific to the underwater environment, composition, display…  From setting up the shot to preparing for trips and dives, from the choice of housing and accessories (flash, housing bodies, connectors) to the way they work and how to maintain them, the authors, CMAS, TDI, PADI and DAN dive instructors and professional photographers, have sprinkled this decidedly practical guide with advice coming from their own experience. Display of photos is also covered, from image editing to printing, from creating portfolios to preparing slide shows.”

An interesting feature is that the comes with a Windows/MAC compatible CD-Rom that provides software that allows readers to name, sort, file, and process their photos after each series of shots. The CD-Rom also contains sample pictures and slideshows taken by the authors.
