Doug and Lorenza Sloss release Underwater Photoworkshop DVD

Proclaimed by Wetpixel underwater video moderator Mike Veitch as “an excellent collection of informative tutorials”, the Underwater Photoworkshop instructional DVD has been released by Wetpixel members Doug and Lorenza Sloss.

Oriented towards the underwater photographer, but with tips on RAW conversion and output that can be applied to all photography, Underwater Photoworkshop features over seven hours of video instruction, and can be played in a computer DVD drive.

Most of the lessons apply real life situational edits and enhancements to your images and use techniques that are intermediate to advanced. These techniques are explained and demonstrated in such a way that even a saavy beginner can quickly get in stride and be on his or her way to creatively improving their underwater (and topside) shots in no time. When you have time, have a look at the description of movie tutorials that are covered on the disc. Posted by Sloss on 2007-02-03 17:26:20 I am somewhat new (couple years) to underwater photgraphy and this instuctionial would certainly be helpful for my level. I do tinker with my pictures using photoshop, however I would like to learn more advanced techniques in this area. I mainly use jpeg but would like to explore the RAW imaging process more fully. How much does it focus on RAW files? Am I right to assume that this DVD isn't a completely beginers course on PS.
Posted by Island Air HVAC on 2007-02-02 18:55:51 Yep, as it states i do like this disc. What I think a lot of people will get out of it is the fact that they use UW examples for everything. Most PS tutorials use pictures of buildings or people etc. Doug and Lorenza use underwater examples to really show how to get rid of backscatter and all the other things that are problems for us UW photogs.

Yes, you are correct; it is a movie-based tutorial series on how to edit and enhance your digital photographs AFTER YOU HAVE CAPTURED THEM. The lessons focus on many of the issues underwater photographers deal with when post processing their images using Adobe Photoshop CS/CS2.
