REEFNET #2011
October 24, 2008 - 4:49 PM

ReefNet has a diverse product line-up, only a part of which caters to underwater photographers. They are well known for their dive data recorders, but were showing off a new flip macro diopter called the SubSee Magnifier. ReefNet also produces a Caribbean fish guide on interactive DVD.

The SubSee Magnifier is compact, and sits on an ABS plastic flip mechanism that can be custom manufactured in 48 hours for any port (on-demand production).  The captured diopter is a +10 sealed optic. At 36mm in diameter, it is currently designed to work with a 100/105mm macro lens on a crop-sensor camera. A new 52mm magnifier is in the works, which will work with all SLR lenses / sensors. ReefNet is also working on magnifiers with different strengths.

The SubSee is modular and upgradeable, which means that you can take a magnifier off of your flip accessory and put it in someone else’s. ReefNet was also demoing a dual flip accessory.

ReefNet also does custom engineering of dive and underwater photography accessories. Contact them if you have an idea.
