NiteRider Dive Lights is known for their full-facemask head-mounted lights and video HID lights. CEO Thomas Carroll walked me through a few of the new products, including the DeepStar Elite 3-LED light with 4W/8W/12W power settings and burn time of 3.5 hours to 9 hours from a Lithium-ion battery based on output choice. The light has magnetic toggle switch for on/off selection, and flashing ‘locator beacon’ setting for emergency situations. With a 10° spread, this light is intended more for cave diving or spotting than video applications.

On display was the redesigned 56w HID II Pro 40 4-HID bulb video light set with a low/high beam feature to switch between 10W and 14W settings to achieve power outputs of dual 10W (20W total), dual 14W (28W total), and quad 14W (56W total) for an output of 3200 lumen. Burn times range from 2 hours at low setting to 45 minutes at full using a 14.4V 6.6Ah Lithium-ion battery that recharges in only 2.5 hours. Carroll described the updated light heads as twice as robust and twice as bright as their predecessors.

NiteRider has introduced the Light Bouncer designed to diffuse and provide very soft light within three feet for underwater fill, complete with ULCS triple-clamp and arms to fit all NiteRider light heads and ULCS-type arms. Note that even with the Light Bouncer mounted, the light head can be swiveled to provide direct light if necessary.

Most of the NiteRider product line utilizes wet connectors between battery and light head for underwater swapping, with a ‘wet’ sensor built-in to automatically shutoff the circuit while disconnected. Additionally, the power cables are sheathed with Kevlar to reduce the possibility of breaking, pinching, or cutting due to an errant dive tank or knife.
