Deadline for entries: Our World Underwater 2011

The deadline for entries to the sixth annual Our World Underwater Competition is fast approaching. This competition has become one of the biggest and most prestigious in the world and celebrates and highlights the art of underwater photography as well as the beauty of the ocean.

It is open to all underwater photographers, from novices to professionals, and offers over $75,000 of prizes. Additionally, Best of Show will receive an additional cash prize of $1,000. Deadline for entries is very soon; 17 January or next Monday!

Would be nice if their website allowed me to submit my video. Was getting ready to submit my entry and takes me to a "page not found". Those of you who edit video and understand how time consuming this is can understand the angst. If it's a method to limit the competition, it's working well . . !
Posted by shazzah on 2011-01-15 16:15:36 I've got a question regarding the "traditional" categories. It states that you are allowed to do among other brightnes and contrast adjustments. Are these OK do to localized? I've got a picture with some minor backscatter, set against a pitch black background. Its not per say cloning to paint the specks black (ei localized adjust down the brightnes), but I could understand if some people thinks that way. There are several judges from wetpixel, whats your say on this? /Bjorn

Getting videos done for contests and festivals is a major challenge in time manipulation. This is a good venue for images though and look forward to seeing the winners!
