Amphibico has announced new and upcoming Phenom accessories, including a new Phenom Basic housing (with a domed, flat-port lens), a 4.5” High Definition 16x9 monitor, a manual white balance bracket, and a new 94° lens system that solves the wide-angle vignetting problem that plagued the original Phenom port.  Amphibico will “upgrade” your old lens for $200 + shipping, giving you a lens that does not vignette, but requiring the sacrifice of the 2nd flip filter.

Amphibico is proud to announce new and upcoming Phenom accessories which will be of great value to our new and existing customers.  We will also be releasing the Phenom Basic housing, configured with our new Domed Flat port lens at the low price of US $5,395 MSRP complete!!.. Furthermore, slated for MID fall introduction, is our new 4½” High Definition 16x9 Monitor to complement all of our housings but especially designed for HDV housings.  More information and pricing will be posted in the comings months about this Monitor,

After conducting extensive surveys over the past year and, from order feedback, we have decided to remove one the secondary flip filters on the present Phenom production model.  This has been an important R & D project for the past six months. The planned removal of that second flip has allowed us to push the lens back into the housing, eliminating any vignetting issues reported in specific viewing conditions, while still retaining existing lens system specifications and pricing.

We finally achieved it and have developed a new lens system.  This is not a fix or a recall, although we will be offering it to our existing customers who would rather lose a flip filter than experience vignetting at the full wide setting.  The stand alone cost for the new lens is US $2,395 MSRP and also includes a new larger 58mm +2 diopter ring for extreme macro.  For existing customers, we will be offering an improvement upgrade at a low fixed cost of US $200. + shipping. What this involves is a complete dis-assembly and rework of the original lens, and adding new parts, to convert it to the new lens system (it will be necessary to remove the second flip filter assembly if installed in your housing).  This eliminates all present vignetting and provides a full 94° field of view, with full 1080i resolution.

On another exciting note, we will introduce a second Phenom port, (standard with the Phenom Basic),  that will act as a flat port, without any lens adaptor, providing full zoom range and FOV of the camera lens,. Priced at US $595, it will also makes this port a great back up lens too!! We will also offer it to all our existing customers at a special price if they execute the upgrade improvements of their present lens.  Please contact Amphibico customer service or one of our sales associates for further information on the above products or improvement-upgrade offers..

Another optional accessory item, now available for the Phenom, is a Manual White Balance bracket, for those that prefer to access the Manual White balance , (instead of the Electronic WB)  for shallow water condition It’s a quick and easy installation and available for immediate delivery!!
