Traditionally, photography textbooks concentrated on aperture and shutter speed as being the most important ways to control exposure. Modern digital cameras offer another option, namely ISO. For underwater photographers, often shooting in quite low light levels and trying to balance flash and natural light, ISO offers an excellent tool to help control the way we capture light underwater. Adam and Alex discuss the newer camera technology that allows this and how they use it when shooting.

Retra Announces Warranty Extension and Firmware Update
Retra has announced a free extended warranty period and a firmware update for its Retra Pro and Prime flashes. If you received your strobe before 1 December 2020, the warranty is valid from 1 January 2021. Firmware version 3.6 offers a range of improved performance features and bug fixes and is recommended for all users.
Sony Announces FX3 Cinema Camera
Sony has announced their FX3 full frame cinema camera. It offers 4K 120p with internal recording UHD 4:2:2 10-bit. Other specifications include an ISO range expandable to 409,600 and 15+ stops of dynamic range, along with 5 axis in-body stabilization.
