Veteran camera equipment manufacturers Polaroid has launched a range of polycarbonate housings for compact, mirrorless and SLR cameras. Variously reated to between 130 and 160 feet (40 to 50m), the housings have a fixed port, so work with specific lens combinations. The company will offer housings for cameras from Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic and Sony.

The apology comes after the public reacted with strong negativity to the museum’s choice. In addition to an apology, the prize has been revoked and this year’s contest is cancelled.

Over half the world population of right whales return to Cape Cod

The numbers of north atlantic right whales have been rebounding in recent years and almost half of the worldwide population of 500 whales have been returned to the waters off Massachusetts. The large numbers this year is especially welcomed as it is a stark contrast to the less than 30 whales a year sighted in the nineties in these waters. Right whales have rebounded after whalers nearly hunted them to extinction for their oil and bone.
