Woman rescues shark trapped in rock pool with bare hands
Melissa Hatheier, an Australian woman who frequently swims the rock pools next to the ocean in Cronulla, Australia, rescued a 3-foot long shark that had found itself trapped in the pool. Hatheier spotted the shark and then called her daughter to come see it for herself. Once her daughter arrived, and started filming with her phone, Hatheier corralled the shark, scooped it up and threw it back into its ocean home. They are not sure whether the shark was a Port Jackson or a Wobbegong shark. They are also surprised by all the attention. Prior to the impromptu rescue they called the emergency number for expert help.
